About Pippin the Pug: Pippin's New Name
Pippin is a little pug with some very big questions.
When his name changes, Pippin begins to wonder what that means, who he is and where he belongs. Through his gentle journey, children are invited to explore themes of identity, belonging, family and difference in a way that feels safe, reassuring and hopeful.
Written by a therapeutic practitioner and Social Worker, the story has been inspired by years of supporting adopted, kinship and trauma-experienced children and their families. It has been carefully created to encourage meaningful conversations without overwhelming children, allowing them to explore big feelings through the safety of a story.
Whether you're reading together at bedtime, using the book in school, supporting life story work or simply looking for a story that celebrates belonging, Pippin the Pug offers a gentle reminder that families are built through love, care and connection and that every child deserves to know they belong.
