ABOUT US
HJ Trauma Support is a trauma-informed therapeutic support service based in Southampton, offering both in-person and virtual services. We specialise in therapeutic parenting support and therapeutic life story work, which is DDP informed. Our commitment is to provide a safe and supportive environment to individuals who have experienced trauma, enabling them to process and navigate their trauma. We are passionate about our work and believe that everyone deserves to reach their full potential in life.
Services
Therapeutic Life Story Work
Therapeutic Life Story Work provides children with an opportunity to explore their history, through asking questions and processing life events. This helps children to process and make sense of past trauma that they may have experienced.
The approach is designed to strengthen the relationship between the child and their parent or carer, and directly involves them from the beginning to the end of the process.
Therapeutic Parenting
Therapeutic Parenting is a parenting approach that combines high nurture, high structure, alongside PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy). The approach is trauma and attachment informed.
Children who have experienced trauma require a particular kind of parenting and often a specialised way of responding to challenging behaviour.
Independent Social Work Assessments
As a Social Worker with over 16 years experience of Local Authority Social Work, with a specialism in Adoption, I am able to undertake Independent assessment work within fostering and adoption. I can also provide expert witness reports for Court..
